Long Reef Headland

Headland & aquatic reserve · Collaroy

Headland between Dee Why and Collaroy beaches, with a walking path around the point and views up and down the coast. The rock platform below has been a protected aquatic reserve since 1980, and the point is a good place to watch for whales in winter.

The reserve was the first aquatic reserve declared in NSW. The area also takes in a wildlife protection area and the Dee Why Lagoon refuge, and volunteers have done years of bush regeneration on the headland.
